INSULA is a JMN research project focused on the development of a plant-based food supplement. Its formulation brings together extracts of aromatic plants cultivated in Epirus with vitamin E.
A research-led formulation
The project explores a natural formulation based on oregano, thyme and savory extracts. INSULA stands for Innovative Natural Food Supplement Exhibiting Antimicrobial Properties, describing the project's research objective.
Plants from Epirus
The active plant ingredients come from aromatic plants cultivated within the Region of Epirus. The combination of botanical extracts and vitamin E connects local plant resources with JMN's formulation research.
Innovation & development
The INSULA project was co-funded by the European Union and the Epirus 2014–2020 Operational Programme, under the priority for regional competitiveness, innovation and ICT. The product is presented in a pack of 30 vegan capsules.
